DISCUSSION ON AMENDMENTS TO LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO THE LAW ON PROPERTY RESTITUTION AND COMPENSATION

Draft to the Law on Amendments to the Law on Property Restitution and Compensation will enable one more efficient handling of claims and restore the land, which is in land consolidation process, in kind as it was said, in the context of public debate, at a press conference in Palilula Municipality in Nis.

About the draft amendments to this Act, in the public discussion, representatives of the media in Palilula Municipality - Nis told the president of the working group Gordana Stamenić, Special Advisor to the Minister of Justice, Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality, Ivana Zivkovic, the director of the Regional unit of the Agency for Restitution in Belgrade and Mile Antic, president of the Network for Restitution.

The commitment and efforts of Palilula Municipality and the president Boban Džunić in the activities at the public hearing organization in Nis was much greeted positively which besides representative bodies and organizations, judicial officers, brought together the representatives of citizens' associations, professional public and other interested parties, including representatives of the media.

According to the Agency for restitution of Serbia, in the civil restitution to date, more than 220,000 square meters of office and residential space was returned, over one million square meters of building land, 3,000 hectares of forest land and 3,400 hectares of agricultural land. Most importantly, according to the Agency for restitution, with the changes in the law is regulating the restitution of agricultural land that was consolidated. Currently, about 10,000 requests for restitution of agricultural land and that for the realization of the rights are waiting from 20 to 30,000 people. 110,000 hectares of agricultural land to 11 hectares respectively are requested.
